Been waiting for these to hard-launch for a year! Replace your Home Depot paddle lights with these dimmer babies as fast as you can.
Absolute perfection in a powder room sconce. Never seen better.
I love this little lamp, and being cordless lets you put it wherever you need some extra light.
I’ve spent a good amount of my career in the worst-lit room in the house: the kitchen. Mixing in task lights and small table lamps (like this one, which is good for transitioning between work areas) is the trick to giving your kitchen a subtle glow, while still being able to see what you're cooking. My full list of kitchen countertop lighting is over at the Secret Strategist.
I’m so sorry for suggesting you buy a bulb for this much $. (But) our renovation didn’t feel complete until we outfitted our rooms with Tala bulbs. Here’s the thing: Sconces and overhead lights that are on a dimmer usually go from white to…lower white light. We wanted the ‘transitional-lens’ version of a lightbulb, and discovered Tala “dim to warm” bulbs. They are the trick to making our living spaces, dare I say, hygge.
Beautiful, affordable, hand made and whimsical - generally an impossible combo. A scoop of gelato in its glass!!
I love the geometric shape of this paper lamp — and the price is great too.
perfect for your kitchen counter or on top of a stack of books on a credenza or entry table
After polling Rec League for some of their favorite night lights, I took the plunge on Loftie. I agree: they’re soft-yellow, calming and still bright enough to show me the way.

The kind of intel David spills at For Scale, my favorite design substack: get / replace / refit your lamp cord needs at Grand Brass Lamp Parts.
adding under-cabinet lighting is one of my favorite low-effort, high-impact tricks, and these make it super easy
Love copper and earthy metals in the garden. We lit our backyard with about six of these copper coneheads—and the Home Depot package comes with a spotlight or two for trees! Pictured here, we also splurged on vintage French copper sconces — we can go off in the comments if you need more specifics.
Insanely cool lamp
obsessed with the delicacy in all of valerie's work.
I use these as bedside lights and have placed color-changing lightbulbs inside them.
this is silly but i like silly
Bit pricey for a first rec, I admit, but I am deeply in love with these downlights from Original BTC. We have low ceilings downstairs so are stuck with recessed lighting, and these delicate, glowy covers make them 100x more bearable. We get asked about them constantly. We have them in the Ridged texture.
it's cute! it's mini! it fits in any kitchen corner!
Alternative to a Noguchi Akari pendant. In silk. P. Good!
on my desk since '07
An old boss of mine had a bunch of task lamps from the French company Jieldé around his house, and I've coveted one ever since. After unpacking my falling-apart desk lamp the other day, I knew it was finally time. All the colors are so good, but I'm loving this bright blue, though I also considered ivory and Vespa green (the two my boss had) as well as red, mustard, and maybe even pink.
isn't this the cutest pendant you've ever seen?
i was on the wait list for almost a year when this glazed donut dream was first released in limited numbers. i had given up hope. then the magical moment arrived - it had been restocked. my life has improved drastically since then.
