I think it’s my all time favorite restaurant. I always get fish tacos and chips and guac. They also have SOFT SERVE. And then I get at least one bag of tamales to take home and stash in the freezer.

A very considered, very beautiful, very delicious restaurant. The most worth-it fancy splurge meal I think I've ever had. Incredibly special without being over the top, which is my preference in most things. A presentation of beauty, simplicity, and perfection. Took my mom here for her birthday in August and I’d love to go back in the winter when they have the fireplace on. The space is so lovely and I appreciate that they have padding under all the tables and chairs to dampen the sound. The last thing I’d want to do here is yell.

Excellent food, yet unpretentious and artist-centric. All diets welcome (vegan and omnivores, etc. alike). I've never been disappointed. Txa Txa is newly down the street and also worth checking out if you're into this vibe.

if someone tells you that their favorite thai place is called Luv2Eat Thai Bistro, you should have no follow up questions. because the name itself says it all, green flags only. and the jade noodles are the only reason i would ever willingly go north of santa monica blvd in hollywood

Mh Zh (3536 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles)

Mh Zh was too good for this world. The menu was written daily on a piece of kraft paper with fun misspellings, doodles and the BRILLIANT option to 'Fire The Menu' which I managed to resist doing maybe once or twice out of the million times I sat on one of those sidewalk milk crates for a wood fired meal. The head chef moved to OC and opened the pretty great Mayfield but it's obviously not the same and more importantly, it's in Orange County. I check the Mh Zh instagram page every once in a while, fully delusional — thinking I'll see some news about a reopening.

some people are surprised when i tell them that my favorite place to eat in la is actually in ojai, but they’ve clearly never been to rory’s place. it’s rare to witness a restaurant get everything (design, menu, cocktails, atmosphere, merch) but that’s what keeps me coming back time and time again. the passion fruit aguachile nearly makes me forget about the 90 minute drive.

just very good décor that is sort of lost to time, and also always a few old parisian dudes with f*cking great drip ! rec by "FOR SCALE" super pal diego d. e. also also it's on the île st louis, where there is very little of high quality in terms of non-touristy sh*t so this is a gem
