whoever named these was real as hell
These were my favorite in the summer when I was growing up. My grandmother always bought them for my cousins and I when we were at the beach. I have been drinking them a lot recently and the taste is so nostalgic. They also randomly kind of have amazing ingredients.
My favorite Damson plum jam from Ayako & Family, second-gen Japanese plum farmers and jammakers in WA. The most ludicrously delicious jams you can get your hands on.
the perfect 10 min meal that I make at least 3x a week all summer Boil water for the noodles and slice up some cucumber, scallion, sweet peppers for color (honestly any fresh crunchy veg works) When the noodles are done, splash in an ice bath and drain For a creamy dressing I mix some tahini and ponzu, a little wasabi for a kick. Or sometimes I just buy soba tsuyu Also it happens to be vegan but could easily be served with a protein of choice
might be the best grocery store in the tri-state area
Love how Claire Simon calls this “a fridge cigarette.” Sometimes you need one now and again!
Best hot weather food is lettuce cups with some type of fish salad using little gem
These days, curated grocery stores are about as upscale, interesting and overwhelming as clothing, homeware and gift shops. If someone got me a grocery gift card to buy the expensive olive oil and individually packaged chocolate covered dates…I would love it?
not sure what these sisters are up to or why this yogurt is so good, but wow. don’t try if you don’t want other yogurt ruined for you ;)
There are few earthly pleasures greater than a perfect California apricot and you can sign up for four shipments of various prizewinning varieties from Frog Hollow Farm. (This would make the most incredible present.)
Murray’s cheese describes it as “savory ice cream” — it’s sooooo good
I like pizza dough from scratch, but I love it from a shop. This trick substantially cuts down on my homemade pizza making journey.
I know I know cabbage is the hot vegetable of 2026 - but fennel is eternal. The sweetness when caramelized, draped over pizza, shaved paper thin with good vinegar, with stewy white beans, raw and crunchy after dinner as a digestif. Give it to me any way. It's also dear to my gay Italian heart because believe it or not, the word for f*ggot in Italian is finocchio, aka Fennel, so in a way I get to reclaim it with every delicious bite.
My wonderful coworker Louise introduced me to this and it slaps
Sahadi’s on Atlantic is a go-to for nuts, apricots, olives, chocolate covered pistachios, curried couscous, and more.
dangerously delicious!
looks like tar but I promise it's so good
the only soda i like, mostly because they all taste like fernet
a speciality greengrocer with the most notoriously rude shop keeper. one review reads 'if you want to be treated like a victorian orphan who’s just wandered off the street looking for gruel, this is the perfect place for you!’ and i wouldn't want it any other way. what cookbook wishes it was.
Pandan. It is so delicious. I have been unable to get on board with matcha so I am delighted at how much I love this flavor. It’s like an earthier vanilla but not too earthy which is good for me personally. My favorite thing I’ve had so far is Pandan ice cream but I am an ice cream gal through and through. I hear it pairs well with coconut and can’t wait to try something like that. Any suggestions welcome.
carrotkraut? oh hell yea
california ruined strawberries for me because what do you mean I can’t buy a crate of strawberries (from the back of a truck parked on the side of the street) that were fresh picked this morning??
These guys have been around since 1948!
