Box o Extra Virgin from Seka Hills

My go to everyday oil. Sustainably produced by the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation in the Capay Valley. Comes in a 3L and 9L bag-in-box situation to minimize oxidation. Buy it once a year after the fall harvest and call it a day.

Heirloom Garlic Olive Oil

I hate that this is so good because it is on the pricey side, but it is SO worth it. Imagine with fresh bread and some Maldon salt sprinkled on top outdoors on a perfect summer day. Or on top of a homemade pizza. It's perfection.

Wonder Valley Oil Tin

Wow. This tin is graphic perfection. So is the flavor profile of the oil inside: Green Tea, Green Apple, Cut Grass, Apricot with a strong pepper finish.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

This is my go-to workhorse olive oil, both for cooking and for finishing. I want to take a walk through the image on the front of the can.

Inez Organic Ultra Premium Blend Olive Oil

The most delicious California olive oil money can buy, made by my friend’s friends in the Santa Ynez Valley. I use their estate blend as my daily driver but this early harvest batch is heaven for toast, vinaigrettes, and finishing with salt.

Inez Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Inez Olive Oil is a family-owned and operated olive oil company based out Santa Ynez Valley. They have three "cuvees" I guess you could call them and they're all amazing. They were kind enough to provide myself and Rec League with bottles of both their Single Estate and Ultra Premium for our party. I used the Ultra Premium for my olive oil cakes, and the crumb was so moist and delicate and the flavor was perfectly balanced yet bright. This is in some ways a recommendation for both the olive oil itself, and using the highest quality you can when you cook and bake it makes such a difference! To round out the rec, here is Claire Saffitz's Olive Oil Cake recipe.

Mandranova Olive Oil

Despite receiving lots of direct/indirect education around olive oil, I have the same basic attitude toward it that I do toward wine: I either like it or I don't. This Sicilian oil is my favorite, it truly makes any food much more delicious. Tomato season is imminent (at least in NY), time to get a bottle.

inez olive oil

There’s olive oil and then there’s Inez! This perfect grassy olive oil from the Santa Ynez valley of Santa Barbara is so delectable, I can vividly recall every dish it improved. I’ll put it this way, once we had houseguests who blew thru half a bottle in a week and made no other indiscretions and my boyfriend (who loves it as much as I do) was so upset about it he had to avoid them for weeks! Shoutout to the founder who also happens to be on RL @Augustin Vita 🫒

Heritage Extra Virgin Olive Oil

I kind of hate to say it (it's so expensive?!), but Flamingo Estate's olive oil really is very good, especially as a fancy finishing oil, like on vanilla ice cream or fresh tomatoes. Give it as a gift to someone you really like.

Pizza Olive Oil

This was so good when I sampled it in the store and has a nice heat that sets in for a little spice. This would be delicious on so many things especially drizzled over a summer caprese salad. (I had to bring it home plus one for my dad)

ILÉM - The Duo

Edition 01 begins with two origins: Hotan, home to a rich and underrecognized heirloom damask rose-growing tradition, and Uji, where matcha has been cultivated for centuries. From these, they've created a Hotan Rose-Infused Olive Oil and a Uji Matcha-Infused Olive Oil. Not only is it the most stunning bottle I have ever received (I have serious product design envy!), the oil is delicious and has earned a very happy new spot in my pantry. I think it makes the most beautiful gift, so I couldn't wait to share it with you : )
