Recs for Thanksgiving Day in NYC that are family-friendly and unexpected? We’ll be there Tuesday-Friday and want some fun things to do on our last day when most things will close. We’ll have the parade and dinner sorted, but a decent few hours in between!

Take a Ferry Ride: I highly recommend a ride on one of New York’s Ferry lines. It’s cheap. Delightful. Most have snack bars. You can bundle up and sit on the roof for a lovely view of the skyline and maybe go somewhere new!

The area around Brooklyn Bridge Park is awesome and very family friendly many playgrounds and good people watching. Stops are either Dumbo or Pier 6!

Visit other Burroughs besides Manhattan.: Go to Brooklyn! Greenpoint! Prospect Park! Williamsburg is obvious, Bed-Stuy! Get curious about neighborhoods before you go. A major plus to going during T’giving is the city empties out!
