Danner Mountain Light Hiking Boots Made in USA: Classic old-school hiking boots, made in the USA. I've had mine for nine years now and they've held up great through many hikes (including those on an 'Alpine Field School'). Bonus points that they look like old swiss ones.

Women's Z/1 Classic Sandal: Ok maybe this is a hot take but I only hike in Chacos and it’s way better cause then you can walk in any streams and your toes don’t get jammed into your shoes when you’re going downhill.

salomon elixir: Disclaimer: I don’t think this exact style is still available, or if the fit is the same, so i recommend trying on in store. (There’s a style of this shoe that goes up past the ankle but imo they’re not as cute as the low sneaker-y ones).

Review: i purchased this pair of Salomon elixir hiking shoes (low, black and white) in December 2023, 2 days before a solo trip to Switzerland. Risky but worth it — never got any blisters, no breaking in pain, just absolute comfort from the get go. I walked at least 20k steps per day. Then i wore them all winter in nyc. And i wore them the next winter in nyc. And on a 2 week trip to Japan. And my NB running shoes became worn down so started wearing these as my running shoes. And then wore them for my 3rd winter in a row. And on a trip to Belize. And they’re definitely quite worn down by now, April 2026, but still have life left in them. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on them and they go with pretty much any outfit. Best $200 i ever spent. Also, these are my first (and still only) pair of Salomon shoes.

Danner Eastwood Boots: The caveat here is that I don’t personally own these (I have a pair of keen boots that are comfortable yet super ugly) - but I’ve loved them since the Wild movie with Reese Witherspoon came out.

But people do really like these! I’d imagine you would have to do some fairly serious breaking in bc of the leather shell, but there’s no denying how gorgeous they are.

Tracker Leather AT II Womens: I've heard great things about these specific boots and they've been on my wishlist for a long time. As we plan to do a lot more hiking starting this summer, I'm planning to buy them! They look way less ugly than most!
