best t-shirt in the world. fuck a "lady white co." or whatever. It's always been Uniqlo crew neck T. None of the "Airism" BS either. OG crew. Thick fabric, Amazing fit. I have like 6 in white and 3 in black and they make everything better

Can’t beat em. So simple. Durable. Shrink them (or not) to fit how you like. Wear them into a unique fade. Look good with everything.

There is some sticker shock 💸, but these 100% Hand Brushed Shetland Wool, made in Scotland, sweaters are the real deal. Very comfortable, with a wonderful natural stretch to layer on top of a shirt and/or under a jacket. Great, classic colors and just a few different designs, which screams “Classic” to me. 1 of 3 wool sweaters I pretty much wear all season, making the cost per wear pretty reasonable.

A hear A LOT of people asking for, even begging for a solid resource for actually 'elevated basics'. Sunspel would probably be my pick for these people. It's a 'luxury' British clothing brand founded in 1860, made famous for inventing the modern boxer short, creating some of the world's first luxury T-shirts, and producing the Riviera polo worn in James Bond films. Extremely consistent, nothing outrageously priced and widely available.

Carhartt Men's K87 Loose Fit Heavyweight Pocket T-Shirt
These are durable thick shirts that are good for all seasons. I bought the navy blue colorway about 5 years ago and it’s faded beautifully that it would be a holy grail if found at a thrift store.

The game pocket in the back can hold a sandwich or a wine bottle or a book. Wax it! Mine is from the 80’s.

outerknown fatigue pants in olive
I’m in these three times a week. Somebody told me to treat fatigue pants like jeans, I took it to heart, never took these off. With a blazer on a date, or with a sweatshirt on a Saturday. They’re light enough for summer. The Outerknown version has a drawstring and belt loops, and is a little baggier than others I’ve had. That’s made them my favorite.

Blundstone Men's Originals #510
I was never much of a Chelsea boot fan until I saw a beat up pair of Blundstone 510s about 6 years ago. Blundstone is the real deal. They created them in the outback back when farmers were wearing them. And I don’t feel like they’ve cut back on the durability. Mine are coming up in 6 years with just a few re-conditionings. and damn do they look good.
I love Uniqlo for its basics, and their chino pants have become my go-to. The fit is great, the quality holds up, and I wear them every week. They’ve been through countless washes and still look good. Whenever I eventually get a hole or tear, I just buy the same pair again. If I had to wear a uniform, these would be my pants.

Abercrombie & Fitch Premium Heavyweight 2.0 Tee
Very utilitarian, fits great, 100% cotton, can dress it up with a collard shirt as a layer. And on occasion the packs of 5-10 will go on sale and drop the per unit price. My only basic tee I use nowadays.

This is delving into “most secret recommendations” for me, but (1) I shouldn’t gatekeep, that’s why we are all here, and (2) maybe they’re famous beyond my wildest dreams and I never knew! Kamakura shirts. These are my “reach” shirts. They are not so inexpensive that I buy one once a week, but they are not so expensive that it will break the bank. Kamakura is in New York and in Japan. Everything they make is beautiful. Custom or pre-made, this is the ideal place to get a nice dress shirt! I highly recommend stopping by their locations if you get the chance!

I get so many compliments on these shirts. They are really heavy duty, so they feel like a step-up from your regular t-shirt. They are incredibly comfortable, and they work for that weird time of year when it's cooler but you still wanna wear a t-shirt.

Wrangler Cowboy Cut Original Fit Jean
I got back into wearing wrangler jeans about a decade ago after wearing the dress jeans for sometime and wanted to get back into denim. I love how the cowboy cut drapes over my shoes. I like to size up by 2 for a more relaxed and looser fit.
