This is the best housewarming gift. The forks are actually useful and they are cute. Sets are cheap on Etsy or eBay. Mixed sets are even better, and even cheaper.

Honestly: everyone needs a new kitchen towel, and consumables are something you can't have too many of. This is a great gift for people you don't know well, or people who have everything. If they (or you!) aren't alcohol drinkers, a fancy bottle of olive oil or duo of nice jams subs well!

I have a money tree in my apartment. Someone gifted it to me and explained it is intended to bring luck and prosperity around finances. Now whenever a friend opens a business, or sometimes even on birthdays I will gift them a money tree and pass it on.

One of the most cutest gifts I've ever received. Mini terra cotta home for burning little incense bricks inside. The smoke comes through the chimney. It's my favorite thing to do when I miss my loved ones. Home is what you make it.

Our friends filled the fridge with ingredients (+ giftcards) for a week’s worth of meals - all pulled from NYT recipes they knew we loved & ate often. It was SO thoughtful. I craved healthy food, so having nourishing meals we didn’t have to plan was really helpful. Small scale version - grab the stuff for one or two recipes and include your homemade bread!

These Japanese incense matches make lovely little gifts and are excellent to keep in a bathroom or kitchen. I like the sandalwood fragrance.

The perfect pop over gift! The host can plop one into the dip, another into their salt bowl, and save the final spoon for fishing olives out of the jar.
