My little boy is having some health issues and is losing weight. Does anyone have any advice for helping a cat gain weight? We are still in diagnostics but the priority is to maintain and gain weight.

Churu Nourish: I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with that! My cat got FIP when she was an 8mo kitten (diagnosed just 10 days after the FDA approved prescribing the antiviral cure! I could do, and have considered making, a whole post or even series about FIP on Rec League, but it is just so incredibly niche - if anyone happens to find this who’s dealing with that, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly). She not only survived but is straight up thriving, two years on, but when you’re going through low appetite it can be so difficult to make sure they’re eating when they have little to no interest. Churu Nourish, as well as Gerber chicken/turkey/ham and Tastefuls Purées, were an absolute lifesaver for us (literally!). These are like 12 cal each to regular Churu’s 7 I believe. If the goal really is to gain rather than just maintain weight, just feed as many as they’ll eat per sitting; get those calories in however you can. You’ll worry about nutritionally balanced meals once weight’s stabilized.
