Requests from Olga K.

If you ever lived or visited Barcelona, what was your favorite place to eat, drink, or just a favorite food experience? I love collecting information like this from folks.

Tell me about your favorite writing resources! Creative writing, nonfiction, autobiographical, the whole spectrum. I’m especially interested in writing workshops that offer writing feedback.

Feeling really lost. In my professional, personal, and life in general. Any tips/advice from folks who dealt with this type of disorienting experience? I will read, watch, do workbooks, seek out professional help.

Losing my mind over my cat being really sick. Any advice for dealing with anticipatory grief and grief? Waiting on results of PARR test, but the steroids (3 days into) don’t seem to be helping.

Tell me or show me your favorite baked good! Bonus if it’s super niche or hyper regional or doesn’t get much representation in media.

I’m going through a really difficult time (my boy Tiger 🐈 is really sick, my sister is not doing well, my mom is mentally and physically unwell, and financially stressed). Does anyone have recommendations for dealing with anticipatory grief or how to survive intense periods of stress without resorting to unhealthy cooping mechanisms like disassociation, numbness, etc.? I do have a therapist and hoping to go back to physical therapy to help with migraines.

I am easing my way back into the job search for fully remote roles (internationally based). I have been working fully remote in my current role as an Assistant Editor for 4 years, but I need to be US based to keep the role. I want to be based in the EU. What is everyone using to find roles? Or any advice? I only speak English which really limits any EU opportunities and means I have to focus on American opportunities, but legally I CAN work anywhere in the EU.

This might be super niche but my partner and I are looking to move to EU. Visa and sponsorship is not something we need to worry about since I have dual citizenship. Our main barrier is linguistic. We both only speak fluent English no other Western European languages. Does anyone have any advice for finding work for exclusively English speakers in the EU? Best cities or countries for only English speakers. Eventually we want to live from writing and zine making, documenting/videos, our long term goal is to work creatively full time. I currently work as an Assistant Editor for a publishing press. My partner was a Preparator in a museum/archive.

Tim Curry Favorites, Go! I can start, LEGEND!

My little boy is having some health issues and is losing weight. Does anyone have any advice for helping a cat gain weight? We are still in diagnostics but the priority is to maintain and gain weight.

Does anyone have a great corn muffin recipe? Like the ones they use to sell in late 90’s bakeries and supermarkets all over New York/Long Island!

Looking for a pretty specific rec. Best beef noodle soup (Taiwanese and/or Northern Chinese and/or Xi’an) in Chicago. I used to get the best bowl of beef noodle soup from a food truck in Austin called Chef Hong and was hoping to find something similar in Chicago.

Tell me your favorite eReader! Go! I love my Kobo, hate kindle, and love iPad for research but not reading since it’s too heavy.

Tell me your favorite Chicago dessert! Restaurant, cafe, bakery etc. I love supporting pastry chefs and bakers.

Officially going to Chicago in a week or two. Tell me you favorite bite of food in the whole city, savory and sweet please!

I’m going back to Chicago in a couple month and need more food recommendations! Last time I got to explore Chinatown, Lincoln Park, and Downtown/Riverwalk. I love bakeries, mom and pop shops, Vietnamese and Thai cuisines, sandwiches, and pretty much anything with sausage. Also any tips about when are the best times to go and what to order!

Best camping spots in Cleveland and/or Pittsburgh area. My partner and I finally got our camping gear and now we don’t know where to go camp lol

What’s your favorite gelato or ice cream flavor? Mine is Stracciatella and Yogurt.

It is time. I can’t put off buying jeans any longer. I haven’t bought new jeans (black) since topshop went out of business. Please help, I’m also very busy researching gelato stabilizers.
