Bowling, Anyone?
•••
In this era of divisiveness, casual bowling is the great equalizer. We all wear the same dreadful shoes and lurch our way to the foul line. Devoid of grace, we heave our balls down the lane and then turn to sheepishly face our friends. And then all of us--all of us!--perform an embarrassing little dance to veil our shame at being awkward and very bad at bowling. It's both horrifying and exquisite, terrible and hilarious. It's so fun.

Skip the Jet Lag
•••
Just enter your travel information and your normal sleep/wake times, and this calculator will show you how to adjust your resting schedule a little at a time as your departure date approaches. No more days wasted in brain fog and lethargy, only half-enjoying the meals you traveled around the globe to eat! It even lets you know if melatonin will or won't be helpful for a specific itinerary. It hasn't failed me yet, though I've only used it so far for San Francisco to Manila trips.

Get to Glenstone
•••
This spot is a beautiful assault on the senses. There are 300 acres of impeccably and ethically managed nature--meadows! forests! bodies of water!--punctuated here and there with enormous sculptures. The post World War II collection of art is installed in pavilions with little to no wall text and no photography allowed inside, a choice that allows distraction-free and authentic engagement. Concrete and steel are all over the place, but softened by maple and teak and, of course, by the nature that surrounds it all, especially the wide open sky. Bonus: it's FREE. It's all free! Except for the little cafe which offers, unsurprisingly, a delicious and locally-sourced menu.
