I go every year and it brings me immense joy. I’m talking corn dogs, pig races, rides that’ll make you yak and fried Oreos to end the night. This is proper Los Angeles representation, not just a bunch of east side cool kids. Go before the season ends!!!

Where to be Outside
Arroyo Seco Campground

About 4.5 hours north of LA is arroyo seco. A beautiful campground with river access and a 45 mile out and back on a cliffs edge, this is a wonderful place to spend a weekend. It’s not for aggressive hiking, in fact, much better for a little r&r by the campfire. Take some good food, make a batch cocktail, maybe even bring a few mushrooms… who’s to say? Enjoy yourself out there. on your way home, drive west to the coast and cut down through Carmel and Big Sur for lunch.
