Travelpro Platinum Elite 25" check in suitcase
•••
Ok, this was a wirecutter rec, but one worth repeating. By FAR the most I've ever spent on a suitcase, but absolutely the best one I've ever had and I truly believe it will outlast the fleet of hard shells we've picked up over the years, most of which have been damaged by airlines at least once. Fits a ton. Easier to pack than a clamshell design. The quality feels nice to both pack and move through an airport with! Worth a specific mention: it's also somehow actually lighter than comparible hard shells.

Different colored packing cubes for each family member
$35
•••
My family has abandoned seperate suitcases in these little kid years, and individual colors of packing cubes are the key to not having that be chaos. When searching between suitcases for my underwear, I know I'm looking for a small green cube! So easy. I also love our particular packing cubes - the EagleCreek "reveal" model (link goes to the new version, ours are holding up great about five years of regular use in), and I highly recommend having at least a few with the clean/dirty double pocket feature.

Culinary Backstreets - the best food tours
•••
Hyper-localized, gastronomic cultural deep dives of neighborhoods led by local experts across a wide range of cities globally. We've used them twice (CDMX and Tbilisi) and recommended many times - has been a 10/10 experience for everyone, every location, every time.
