“A charming ode to chef Jeremy Salamon's Hungarian grandma Agi. More of a casual sit down restaurant -- don't miss the palacsinta and tuna melt. Coffee and baked goods are excellent too!”

“The owner of Agi’s Counter, Jeremy Salamon, recently announced that the restaurant will be closing soon (at least for now), but I have to mention it here for posterity — and in the hope that it reopens somewhere soon. Agi’s is a magical spot in Crown Heights, with a menu inspired by Jeremy’s Jewish and Eastern European heritage. It serves one of the city’s most memorable breakfasts and lunches (I never made it there for dinner, though I suspect it’s fantastic as well). I dream of the palacsinta (Hungarian crêpes) and the lemony New York–style cheesecake.”
