Royal Botanical Garden Sydney: Aside from acres if beautiful flora, the garden has an excellent view of the opera house. Bring some snacks and spend a day lounging around.

Bronte Baths: As someone who is afraid of the open ocean this beach was a perfect way to enjoy the beach while staying safe.

The rocks created a natural pool structure that lets you enjoy the sea with a safety bumper from ocean critters.

In Sydney - bay hopping around the Eastern suburbs: There’s lot of places to swim, walk and eat. Parsley Bay is beautiful. Vaucluse House is interesting. You can kayak and paddle board at Rose Bay. Watsons Bay for the sunset. Easy to access these spots by ferry or bus.

Make Time To Check Out Bangalow: After a morning at the beach, freshen up and spend the late afternoon in Bangalow. Walk the main drag, and eat delicious pizza at Ciao Mate! Be sure to leave enough room to pop into nearly every shop including Millar & More & Our Corner Store.

Visit The Farm In Ewingsdale: I don't have to change a word of how Three Blue Ducks Farm in Byron describes it's own vibe: "Dine in, grab fresh produce, something from the BBQ or wander the fields of the 80-acre picturesque farm with a house made picnic hamper in hand." About 15 minutes from Byron Bay beaches, the farmland is not to be missed. Rolling hills and a very family-friendly dining experience or just a chance to visit the animals and have an ice cream.

Spend An Afternoon In Brunswick Heads: About an 18 min drive from Byron Bay! The Brunswick Hotel has live music and a new-pub menu. There's a children's playground in "Banner Park", and the Brunswick River runs behind it, so at low tide your kiddo can play in the mud and muck. If that sounds too messy, just head to the breathtaking Torakina Beach. Make sure you reserve a table at La Casita for the best Mexican food, and the most charming wait-staff, plus natural wines or margs, and you're steps from Torakina if you decide to catch the sunset before heading back to Byron.

Where To Stay, The Sunseeker: We opted for a roadside "Bungalow" in Byron Bay, and stayed at 'the Residence' which had three really well-sized rooms and a live-in/eat-in kitchen, also a grill and access to the motel swimming pool. There's a sauna at the Residence, and a private outdoor tub(!) The Sunseeker is kid-friendly, outfitted with an edible garden and jungle-gym with an epic in-ground trampoline. If you prefer to be walking distance to Main Beach, check out Bask and Stow or Basq House. We nearly booked at Crystalbrook, but tbh it was a bit resort-y. To each their own!

Geralds Bar: a staple of the melbourne restaurant scene for two decades, the famous Gerald's has recently upgraded their location to a (much) bigger and arguably better spot. i miss the cosy atmostphere of the old Geralds, but i'm glad the new location means they're able to cater to more Geralds fans. food and cocktails are just perfection. plus, they have a sister bar in San Sebastian!

McIver’s Ladies Baths: Historic ocean baths for women from a time when seeing a bit of bare ankle sent men into a frenzy. Incredible natural landscape and impeccable vibes. Run by volunteers. If it’s not warm enough to swim, a towel and a book is all you need.
