100% lives up to the hype. It’s charming and sassy and tender and sexy. Features a surprising cameo from “Annie’s Song” by John Denver, which is the song I walked down the aisle to at my wedding so, okay, maybe I’m a tad biased. But really, it’s wonderful.

I was fortunate to go to a high school that had a darkroom, and analog photography became a passion of mine. Our teacher had a huge collection of Herb Ritts books in the classroom (which I’m guessing the school administration did not know about). The combination of technical mastery and the queerness of his work resonated deeply within me. His music videos were also extraordinary. He accomplished so much in his short life, but it’s upsetting to think about what was left undone.

For many years, it was pretty embarrassing that, of all things, the tipping point for 25-year-old me to finally accept that I was bi was watching Santana perform “Constant Craving” on (sigh) Glee. But you know what? 15 years later, it’s still a beautiful performance and not even Matthew Morrison’s smug face could ruin that.
