I like waffle towels because they take up less space in my cabinet, but I cannot stand the flimsy, stretchy texture popularized by brands like Onsen. I came across Gilden Tree via a Reddit rabbit hole and their towels are perfect: no stretching or warping even after years of use, sturdy, absorbent, space-efficient.
I started using these and I’ve literally never looked back. They’re so much more absorbent than plush towels, so you can scrape the water off your body in seconds. And they last a really, really long time. ps Onsen generally has good sales so don’t pay full price!

these hold up shockingly well. I am someone who needs my towels hotel white and they tolerate me bleaching the hell out of them. they dry fast in between uses and take up hardly any room in the wash.

I'll admit I was skeptical of Typical towels at first: Who needs a stretchy towel? But then I tried them for two months. I had guests use them, too. Everyone liked them, especially those with long hair. Turns out having a little stretch helps hold a wrapped towel on your head. It also helps hold it around your body and makes it easier to dry off your back. The towels are thin but not ungenerous in feel. They also dry swiftly. I'm a convert.

every other towel brand I've tried in this mid tier-ish price range loses it's softness, and texture is a huge thing for me, this one stays soft! I actually just had someone over who commented that we had nice hand towels and I got them maybe 6 months ago.
