Pie Ranch Farm Stand
•••
This is the type of place that people think about when they fantasize about a stop along the Pacific Coast Highway. The farm itself is also worthy of its own rec (a non profit focusing on food education and regenerative agriculture). South of San Francisco, just outside of Santa Cruz, stop here for fresh produce, pickled foods, jams, jams, and more jams and of course- the pie. Oh the pie. They have a couple of benches to sit at outside to enjoy a slice with some coffee (last time I was there, the coffee is pre-made in an urn, don’t expect options or an espresso machine).

Other Brother Beer Co.
•••
If you’re in the Monterey area, this is a non-negotiable must visit for drinkers/non-drinkers alike. If you’re a visitor to the area, it’s a bit off the beaten path in that it’s in Seaside, a cute little city next to Monterey. They brew their own beers on site, have a beautiful, big open space, with outdoor seating out front and in the back, yummy food, they host tons of events, and are hyper local in all the ways- like partnering with local vendors, and always thinking about how to keep business booming for the hospitality biz in the area.

Gas Station Tacos in Pescadero
•••
The adorable town of Pescadero, just South of San Francisco and right off the coast, is a gem on its own. This is just one of the fun things that makes it feel like you stumbled upon a special hamlet. There are 2 gas stations in all of Pescadero, and this one has a delicious Mexican restaurant in it. This is the first place I go when I roll into town.
