I have been using Smitten Kitchen as my go to spot for recipes for at least 15 years. Deb is thoughtful, funny, and practical. I’m not an expert cook, I’m easily intimidated, and I’m definitely on a budget, and she always has something worthwhile for me. I’ve created my standbys from her collection.

Le Coupe Chocolate Chip Cookies

You know that truly horrifying saying “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels”? Whoever came up with that would have never if they had one of Le Coupe’s brown butter chocolate chip cookies. A friend brought a bunch to a gathering last night and as the box went around, you could hear each person go “oh my god. What? Oh my god!” This truly is the best cookie I’ve ever had. And I’ve had many.

Sheet Pan Meatballs with Crispy Turmeric Chickpeas

I just made this last night and was reminded about how good of a healthy-ish, easy dinner recipe this is (if you eat meat). If you have a well established pantry, this one is easy because you just need to make sure you have eggs and buy a pound of ground turkey. You can even sub out the yogurt for water if you don’t have any. When I’m especially lazy, I just make the meatballs, no chickpeas, onions or dip. I live by the mantra “KISS” it when it comes to cooking- keep it simple, stupid.
