Philips SmartSleep Wake-Up Clock
•••
I have had this alarm clock for 10 years. I’ve had to replace it once because it got damaged in a move, and I would replace it again and again if I ever needed to because I love it that much. It keeps my phone out of the bedroom, its gentle light creates a gentle wake-up experience, and you can choose from nature sounds, ambient noise, or even the radio! Me? I opt for my local classical station, but you can do you! You'll have a marvelous morning no matter what.

Lemon Balm
•••
It’s easy to grow and smells divine. Lemony, yes, but with a whisper of mint. Throw a sprig in your water for spa-like hydration. Give a little rub on your way out of or into the house for an olfactory pick-me-up. Harvest a bunch, dry it out, and make calming, sleep-supporting, digestion-aiding tea. Note: plant it in a container or it could take over your garden.

Fishs Eddy
•••
A solid spot for basics/staples, especially if you or someone you know is starting from scratch (ex: the life stage where you just need 6-8 plates and bowls that won’t break in the dishwasher vs. one beautiful artisanal platter). My favorite ramekins were gifted to me from here.

Eucalyptus + Any Flower
•••
My chic sister does this so, naturally, I copied her and am going to use this formula for the rest of the summer and maybe my life. I love to keep fresh flowers in my home, but building an arrangement is daunting so I always go mono. Eucalyptus is a fragrant addition that’s both neutral and quite pleasing.

High quality hand soap
•••
Life is short; even the most mundane daily activities should be pleasing, and that includes washing your hands. Whether it’s bar or liquid, floral or herbaceous, indulge in a hand soap that brings you joy and turn your guests’ mid-party bathroom break into a restorative moment of luxury and delight.

Oil your cutting boards
•••
Extend the life, enhance the function, and improve the appearance of your cutting boards with mineral oil. I use Boos Mystery Oil but any food-safe mineral oil will work. I’ve had my butcher block cutting board for >5yrs and this has kept her looking like new (and fighting off, warping, cracks, etc.). Every couple of weeks (or whenever my cutting board starts to look ashy), after I’ve washed and let the board fully air dry, I slather on a ton of this stuff and let it sit overnight. I’ll usually do my wooden spoons and spatulas, too. In the morning they’ve got a rich, glossy glow (and supercharged water resistance and anti-microbial properties!).

High quality, maybe imperfect rugs
•••
A great rug looks good, feels good, and, is worth investing in over a meh machine-made rug. That said, they can be pricey. Instead of spending money, spend time: scour estate sales, peruse CraigsList, keep an eye out when you travel, and consider taking home an imperfect beauty with uneven fringe over clicking “add to cart” on a pristine carbon copy.

Propogate your plants
•••
Take off an inch here and there, fill a little jar with water, submerge the nodes, and start a nursery. Pot once roots start to grow and turn your house into a jungle. I like gifting them to friends and neighbors, creating a little plant community.
