Marie Antoinette (2006)
•••
Devastating that Coppola’s vision didn’t land in 06, but liberating to see the second and third and fourth lives it’s gotten since. She’s stunning!! If you have yet to watch, turn it on tonight - she’s on Netflix.

AMC A-List Membership

This is the best my town’s got and it’s the best part of my week. A few of my friends have the membership too so after we see a movie together, we recreate the poster outside (as pictured here, obvi). Cinema will not die on our watch!!!

Jaws (in the pool)

If you’ve still never seen it, what the heck are you doing (this was me until 3 days ago so I can say this)!! Get the projector up, pour yourself a drink, and sink into the floaties. A+ movie deserves an A+ watching experience. Bonus if it’s on a beach trip with your friends and you’re watching in the fat Airbnb pool.

Heat (1995)
•••
tbh most underrated film of all time. an absolute banger from beginning to end. "Find someone who looks at you the way Michael Mann's camera looks at the city of LA or the way Pacino looks at De Niro in this movie." - @Hungcat's review on letterboxd

Ted Lasso

Got a new iPhone, got that 3 month free Apple TV subscription, and immediately binged Severance. And since I was rightfully soooo very sad and spooked about life/work when I finished season 2, my immediate move was to finally watch Ted Lasso. There is some very nice stuff to be found in this wholesome show.

I meannnn. This never fails to put a smile on my face and I’m hopeful it can do the same to them. Only concern might be the dueling.

Hal & Harper

If you don’t have Mubi, get the free trial just to watch this 8 ep series. The soundtrack alone brought me to tears, but Cooper’s writing/directing/editing/acting with Lily’s impressive emotional acting PLUS Mark Ruffalo - this split me in half. A show about childhood trauma and family codependency but in the most unexpected and heart healing storytelling framework. Crazy that Cooper is only 29.
