Beer Slushies Recipe

“Once upon a time in New York City, there was a fabulous restaurant called Uncle Boons where you could get a plate of crab fried rice, a heaping mounded toasty coconut sundae with googly eyes, and a fizzy beer slushie. Those slushies have been on my mind in these brutally hot days; lacking the magical Thai cooling barrel at Uncle Boons, I tried this technique from America's Test Kitchen. Works like a charm; made some to accompany today's couch matinee of JAWS. (If you are in NYC, you can still find the fried rice and the coconut sundae at Thai Diner, the desendent of Uncle Boons.)”
