“The best slice of pizza in Brooklyn is a plain or pepperoni slice from Luigi's pizza window on DeKalb. Show me otherwise! How do you even describe something that's perfect? The crust: no notes. The cheese-to-sauce ratio: dialed in. The sauce: not too sweet. Still the same friendly guy behind the counter who's been working there my entire life. Prices have gone up, like everything else in the neighborhood, but know you're paying for a quality slice. They also make the best garlic knots, which feel weirdly harder and harder to find these days. Yesterday they told me business slows down every summer when the nearby Pratt students leave town so go have a delightful slice from a neighborhood institution. I'd be LOST without them.”
