“By far my favorite offshoot of the LIB universe. There’s just one season, but it’s such a fascinating look — especially if you’ve watched the American or other versions — at cultural differences in Japan. Most obviously, there’s extremely little physical intimacy throughout. More tellingly in my opinion, though, I think almost half of the episodes are devoted to the blind dates in the pods (which is frankly my favorite part of LIB anyway), meaning that you really get to see the nuanced emotional progression of the relationships. A lot of the individual couples are really endearing, as well.”
