Mallory CarraFirst to rec“Copied from my Letterboxd review: Boy, did this movie (and LOTR: THE TWO TOWERS) make me miss the era when sequels expanded the world and didn't just repeat clever lines and asides wink, wink, nudge from the original hit movies. Because this movie expands the world of STAR WARS, but in all fun, useful and even dark ways. Luke goes on a soul Jedi quest with Yoda to the swamp and I didn't know that Yoda was such a...weirdo. Han Solo somehow wins over Leia with some of the worst flirting I've seen in a movie and I love rom-coms. (Now I understand why nerdy men flirt like this. They think they're Han Solo. But seriously, dudes, do not flirt like this! It only works in this movie because, let's face it, Leia has limited options; it's either Han, her twin brother who she made out with???, droids or the Wookie. The George Lucas version of a Nightmare Hinge feed.) Lando is a terrible "friend" to Han and Chewie is a good friend; get yourself a friend who wails when you get frozen in carbonite. I was a little sad that it ended with Han just...frozen in carbonite, with Luke and Leia looking longingly at each other. But clearly, there's a third movie, so let's go!”

Nathan H.“For me, it’s without question, the greatest movie I’ve ever seen. It was the first movie I watched in a theater in 1981 as a little kid and I just became attached.”
