Into the Blue

“I am only 38% in but I already have recommended this book to 3 people in person. A non cheesy romance that really hits- slow burn, Mandy Moore candy music video reference, d and d, a made up sci fi improv tv show. Will update after I finish 😁”

“A very good and epic romance book. ✨”

“After a slow start this story got me. It was both fantastical and real, sexy and sad, and brought me into a world (acting and improv) I admittedly don’t usually care about. I exchanged a few words and some meaningful glances with a stranger at the pool who saw me reading it about the spiciness of the sex scenes, of which there are many over the 400+ pages. If that motivates you;)”

“Fucked me up in the best way. “Normal People”/“One Day” level of time jumping, first love, soulmate yearning. It’s not perfect, but I still tore through it like a banshee. Emma Brodie done good!”

“Reads like a romance novel which isn’t my usual but I found it compelling!”

“I have some issues with it (constantly squicked out by sex scenes veering into D/s territory without any real thought or care to it in het romance. Sorry.) but one of my favorite reads of the year. My other favorite read of the year is ALSO about a decade spanning toxic relationship where both parties are bad for each other but they’re still trying to get it right. We won’t unpack that!”

“I get a good chunk of my reading done during bouts of insomnia in the middle of the night that often begin when one of my children cries, I wake up, they go back to sleep, and I remain awake for 2-3 hours. Rather than reading the vast majority of Into the Blue when I couldn’t sleep, I stayed up until 2 AM because it was so engaging that I couldn’t fall asleep and I wanted to know what happened. Finally forced myself to put it down and get some rest and finished it this morning.”

“Can’t stop thinking about it. Can’t stop recommending it.”

“perhaps my fav book of the year! Julia Whelan’s audiobook narration is chefs kiss. brb gonna go cry again.”

“A fantastic and addicting book full of yearning for someone. Funny, heartfelt, and not too sappy. A plus always.”

“Star-crossed lovers.”

“I listened to the audiobook, read by Julia Whelan. A little long but overall enjoyable”

“Great read for Sci-fi nerds, SNL heads, theater geeks and anyone who believes in the transformative power of art and the importance of connection at the core of performance. Also had a lot of smutty scenes, which I blushed to read during my flights in premium economy from SFO <> JFK.”

“Made me cry big juicy tears”
