“My favorite book so far this year ❤️”

“A sweet, weird book about a dysfunctional family that reconnects on a whacked out road trip. It manages to be morbid and heartbreaking and funny and delightful all at the same time. Definitely some Little Miss Sunshine vibes going on here, if you liked that movie.”

“I loved this book and the characters so much. It reminded me of the characters in the movie "Little Miss Sunshine" - all a little odd, quirky, complicated, and you're rooting for them so hard. A 5-star++ read!”

“This book was just what I needed at just the right time. Heartwarming, dark, over the top, funny and all the things.”

“A darkly comic and warm-hearted read. The cat steals the show. It has a road trip, a high school crush, and a sweet lesson of belonging.”

“Never has so much death been so heart warming and funny”

“This book is so excellent! (The audio version is also fantastic.)”

“One of the funniest books I’ve read in the last several years. Stay for the cat who is an “agent of death.””

“Fun, like an American road trip should be, but also deeper than I expected. Lightly dark humor was appreciated. We laughed, we cried (a little).”

“5/5 stars. A heartfelt, darkly funny road trip novel about a dysfunctional found family navigating grief, connection + the absurdity of life together.”

“This family that ends up being a chosen family is one that will stick with you. I could not put this book down.”
