Monique“This book opened up worlds for me creatively when I was burnt out and overworked in my design career while simultaneously grieving the loss of someone very important to me. It gave me perspective & helped keep the thing I love from becoming something I resented, which is everything. The way it’s written in stream of consciousness is so engaging & I’ve adopted a few philosophies from it. Things about looking at all angles, scrapping ideas, how to really nurture the good ones, & how to accept the process in order to continue on & keep it going the length of a career. Longevity is rare in creative fields & it’s a gift to learn ways to keep that shit going. I love diving into some of the ideas late night with cocktails & friends, it always sparks such good conversation. I’ve given copies to people I love & it’s just such a good book. Highly recommend.”

I recommend reading it one chapter at a time and stewing over the ideas and practices so it really sinks in. Rick Rubin’s Tetragrammaton podcast is also my favorite of all time because he is simply the best interviewer. Allows his guests to speak at length, asks amazing questions, and barely talks about himself.”
