Christiane“two fabulous, staunch, codependent, narcissistic women talk over each other the whole time in a dilapidated mansion in the Hamptons. The Maysles observe these two with such a keen eye. Great editing and many shots of cute kitties.”

Allie Sutterer“Iconic. Summer vibes. Kooky gals. Great style. Horrific living conditions. Raccoons. Mother daughter dynamics. What more could you ask for? Big Edie and Little Edie were the aunt and cousin of Jackie O. This movie captures simple moments of their life in their dilapidated East Hamptons house in 1975. Supposedly the style of the film paved the way for modern reality tv.”

Hannah“This is my all-time favorite documentary ever. Its about a mother and daughter, Big Eidie and Little Eidie. They have locked themselves away inside their dilapidated house in the Hamptons. They were the aunt/cousin to the first lady Jackie Kennedey. After losing all their wealth and status, they became recluses in the squalor and filth of Grey Gardens Little Eidie is a modern day philosopher, and fashion icon. This story is both haunting, hilarious, and heart breaking”
