Lost Lambs

“franzen derivative, meant as a compliment - a sassy romp about yet another fucked up white family.”

“this book. I laughed, I cried. The characters were so outrageous, so real. It’s a book I will re-read forever and always. A dark comedy about the unraveling of the Flynn family, a small community’s entanglement with one another.”

“Another one that hits that Strange + Tender sweet spot. Plus, it’s laugh out loud funny.”

“I'm not even halfway done with this book and am already recommending it for its relatable writing and sense of humor.”

“One of my favorites of 2026! I bought purely based on the cover not knowing anything about the plot or hype but this was another page-turner! The writing is so quirky and it reminded me of Virgin Suicides meets All Fours and then there’s a huge plot twist that is very timely in today’s news cycle in America…”

“Lost Lambs, Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow, and All Fours were all books that I almost didn’t read.”

“I saw someone describe this book as “if Wes Anderson wrote Little Women” and honestly, no notes. 5 star read from this year.”

“Witty (and occasionally laugh-out-loud) exploration of some of the darker themes of the moment.”

“A lovely read of 2026”

“Silly in the best way.”

“Hilarious and smart storytelling.”

“Boring in a good way before getting weird in a weird way.”

“Loved loved loved the Flynn sisters. Did not want this to end.”

“March 2026 Read”

“I can’t imagine the complex mind that this author has to create such a wild ride. I am sad to finish the last chapter!”

“A family drama, mystery, and quirky character study all in one. It follows the Flynn family, whose open marriage is unraveling as their three daughters spiral into their own chaotic subplots, one of which pulls the whole family into an actual conspiracy. It’s funny and strange and tender and left me wanting more.”

“wonderfully wacky and oddly heartwarming”

“A great summer Wes Anderson vibes type book.”

“Blown away by this debut novel… cannot wait to see what Madeline Cash writes next… An author to watch for sure”

“Wes Anderson movie in book form. Funny, dark, delightful read”

“First 5 star read of the year!”

“I genuinely loved this book so so much from cover to cover. It’s so funny, and the characters are so weird in a way that feels like it could be true. The story gets bigger and bigger and plot wise, reminded me of reading Series of Unfortunate Events or something like that. I’m very impressed with how Madeline writes about important, dark, critically timely issues without being annoying, heavy or even too cynical. There’s so much irony throughout and I just really enjoyed it.”
