Going AnalogFirst to rec“i know what you’re thinking - baked in Mac app as a helpful software…boo. hear me out. it’s the process. 1. Find a desktop app for whatever basic app you use 2. Open shortcuts 3. Create hot keys to open + close said apps 4. Manage windows and flow much easier i went through this week and set this up and it has been a game changer for staying engaged while needing to switch applications. combine this with hyperkey (see my other rec) and you open up a whole keyboard’s worth of possibilities.”

Some examples of practical use cases for this that I personally use include: at 8:00pm ET, brightness is dimmed all the way at 12:00am ET, my phone is automatically locked & my green noise (which helps w/ my tinnitus) is triggered at 30% volume when I open any app where I will spend (i.e, Depop, Dunkin’s, Starbucks, etc.) an automation is triggered to show me my balance in Bank of America when I open Instagram, an automation is triggered to set the volume to 0%, and to bring the brightness to low (which avoids blasting my reels at max volume in a public setting) There are endless ways to use this function. Give it a try!”
