Synology DS223

“So much of our data and our lives are wrapped up in a few big companies. They charge random fees, constantly suffer security breaches, and now are often scraping your data for LLM training. It’s relatively easy to build your own home lab! Host your tools at home, host your own version of Dropbox or Google Photos (Immich), your own notes app (Obsidian), your read-later app (Wallabag), your own video streaming service (jellyfin) and so much more. A Synology NAS is an accessible starting point, but you can make a home lab with any old computer.”
