The Mysteries

“been gifting this to friends who’d appreciate it. a recent favorite illustration book. a fantasy tale of how we beat back the mysteries in life. a collaboration between Calvin and Hobbes's Bill Watterson & John Kascht creative processes + contrasting beautiful styles. typeface on cover is Vadstenakursive by Bo Berndal. grew up with Watterson's comics since i was a kid. follow'd his career + artistic choices + the few announcements bout this project. and picked it up a few years ago. each page puts me in a unique headspace. love as a nice reminder that there are parts of life that are better kept not nerd'd or control'd. to keep a level of curiosity & reverence about. a simple example would be trees. i dont wanna know all the ones invasive or struggling while i be tree bathing. i am out here for a blissful degree of ignorance and awe. and i’m sure the answer will be called over by a eager beaver eventually. another example of the feeling is in Lulu Miller's The Eleventh Word (spoken version) ahhhhh namaste 🌳:)🌳”
