Robert Pattinson’s GQ cover story during Covid
•••
If you have a minute today, I implore you to read this profile. I have never looked at Robert Pattinson the same way (complimentary) since reading. It would be easy to explain away the weirdness as a Covid-era temporary insanity, but I am convinced that this is exactly how nuts he is to his core and I think that is lovely.

The Wedding Singer
•••
I am an Adam Sandler hater. I have never seen Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, or any of the weird vacation movies he makes with David Spade and those of that ilk. I don't find his brand of mumbling man-boy enjoyable, I didn't think "Punch Drunk Love" was as impressive as everyone else did, and I think he is the sort of person who must be such an incredible hang that everyone has sort of collectively agreed to ignore that he is perfectly average at everything that he does, including fashion. HAVING SAID ALL OF THAT, "The Wedding Singer" is a nearly perfect film. It's short, charming, and (minus a few dated and cruel "jokes") totally hilarious. It also has an incredible soundtrack. Is it possible that this redeems Adam Sandler? Personally, I find it more likely that he sustained some sort of head injury prior to signing on to this film that awakened a clever, charming, kind of hot?? part of him that had previously been unaccessed. After the film, he was bonked again, bringing him back to his previous self. But we'll always have "The Wedding Singer," Adam, and thank you for that.

She is so cool and funny. I think about what she says about hanging up on someone all the time.

Smitten Kitchen
•••
Every time I want to make a new recipe I usually google “(whatever it is) smitten kitchen” to see if Deb has a version, bc if she does, I know it’s great. My most trusted and true OG cooking blog turned website turned low key empire but she just keeps churning out killer recipes that are doable and delicious. All hail Deb!

Sandra saying "I'm against you, Russell" in Heroes vs. Villains
•••
The calm delivery, the ten toes down hateration of that little swamp goblin, the way Parvati giggles along, the steam coming out of Russell's ears, and the complete confidence that Sandra brings to this interaction is genuinely inspiring. Link

G flip like a version “cruel summer”
•••
Cruel Summer is such an incredible pop song, but G Flip imagines it as pop punk and totally explodes it. A pure dopamine hit.

Create a Definitive Media list
•••
As a new parent, I am constantly like "Oh I want to show this to the baby when she's older," but she is so young and I am so forgetful, so my husband and I started a Definitive Media google doc that has books, movies, records, and shows that we know we will want her to experience at some point in her life. Whether or not she cares at all about any of this is highly debatable, but we have enjoyed the process of compiling it.
