Resident Evil (2026)
•••
The videogame tie in movie has truly evolved. Zach Cregger has crafted a gem of true delight, expertly playing with audience expectations, masterfully moving attention across the screen like a laser pointer in front of a bored cat. A feast to look at, a joy to experience. Funny, weird, bleak, and dumb as hell. I walked out feeling like I'd just played an entire RE game from prologue to credits.

The Devils by Joe Abercrombie
•••
I'm on my seventh Joe Abercrombie book this year and I don't have time for this. send help. But seriously he's one of the finest craftsman of prose in fantasy. Just incredible pacing, character work, and depth of worldbuilding. Strong recommend.

Hope - Na Hong Jin
•••
Incredible. I'm sure many people hate it and they're all cowards. Don't watch the trailer as it gives away the most delightful reveals in the film.
