“kutzi” after someone coughs
•••
kutzi is to cough as bless you is to sneeze. comes from my maternal great grandparents who spoke a myriad of eastern european languages, but i think this is just from classic yiddish tradition. they are pictured here with my grandfather (saba) who looks like an absolute dunce of a toddler. not quite unhinged but people sure think i am when i yell kutzi at them!

factory reset iphone to reset system storage
•••
do not let them make you get a new phone! got ~128 gigs back with this (half of my storage!) and it saved my iphone. clinging onto my 13 mini forever and ever. ** backup first! then redownload from icloud after! only things it messed up were my keyboard stickers (whatever) and that i need to re login to things like my bank account (whatever)

having a kid friendly playlist
•••
i have recently discovered that it is quite difficult to think of completely clean (in subject matter) music off the top of my head. the solution: a kid friendly playlist that i keep downloaded for musical emergencies! not to be confused with music for kids, it is music for me with a safe for kids caveat. currently a lot of silly songs - taking suggestions!!

make a spreadsheet.
•••
works for everything. i swear your life will be better if only you have a spreadsheet to organize every piece of it. packing list? spreadsheet. list of concerts? spreadsheet (my personal fav). schedule? spreadsheet. group project/team management?? always a spreadsheet. finances? spreadsheet duh.

punch buggy game

the game is never ending. it is ruthless and in my family, has extremely strict rules. introduced it to a lot of my friends through the years and i can report that the army of punch buggy players is steadily growing! punch buggy white!!!

citizen science
•••
data collection is so laborious and nobody has time or money (especially now!!). help out our scientists by collecting data for them! i found a tagged horseshoe crab yesterday that i submitted to usfws! citizen science! the maine bird atlas is another example of large scale citizen science success!!! fun mini project for kids too - sometimes citizen science is just counting things.
