Ultrasonic dental pod for retainer/mouthguard
•••
Is this obvious? It wasn't for me. I hemmed and hawed over if this thing was worth $100ish dollars. It has been very worth it. My nightly routine involves running my retainer + night guard through this with only clean water. It vibrates all the gunk off. It's so much more effective than just rinsing them, and way less annoying than brushing them with a tooth brush. Once a week I add a little denture cleaning tablet for a deep clean. (Maybe am I gross for only doing this once a week but it is what it is). I love this thing so much I take it with me when I travel.

Abundance of white wash cloths + small laundry bin in bathroom
•••
I bought a huge pack of white wash cloths to allow myself the small luxury of a fresh one every time I wash my face. White cloths specifically because my cleanser has a small amount of benzoyl peroxide in it, which can bleach colored things. Part 2 of this rec: keep a small basket next to the sink for the used cloths. 1. If you use benzoyl peroxide like me, this will keep it from staining your clothes in the main hamper 2. Regardless, it's nice not having to bring wet washcloths out of the bathroom. 3. Tip: Get a basket that looks distinct from your trash can to avoid mix ups! I went with woven for this reason.

Skip the non-stick stuff
•••
Not sure if this is user error or just personal preference, but whenever I've bought anything "non-stick" the coating ends up stained (no abrasive scrubbing!) or chipped (idk why it happens but I don't want to eat flecks of whatever that is), and it leads me to tossing the thing completely. Which is a waste of money! I switched to stainless steel and haven't looked back! You can scrub these to your heart's content with steel wool — and that alone makes it worth it to me.

Write the "date opened" on things in your fridge
•••
Helps me avoid tossing something perfectly consumable when I'm cleaning the fridge. I only do this for items I use a little of at a time, like a jar of pesto or tomato sauce. I wouldn't waste my time writing it on something like oat milk, because we use that up so quickly. It's also helpful to write on leftovers. You can put a little piece of tape on the container and write the date.
