Assuming some conditions (mutual effort and persistence, a goal oriented modality, going in person when possible), therapy is just about the best thing you can do for your overall wellbeing.
A huge majority of the time people have negative or lackluster experiences beyond the therapist being a bad fit, it's due to a modality misalignment. As somebody who studied psychology, has worked with hundreds of therapists, was raised by two of them and has plenty of other experience in that world — here are my recommendations.
Side note: DM me on IG if you want an LA-based therapist rec. I've got more than I know what to do with.
Double side note: I'm only drip feeding this recs, if you don't see a modality you love posted feel free to shout it out, but I'll almost definitely get to it in due time. Unless it's CBT.
