Re-learning Bharathanatyam as an adult
•••
I trained in Indian classical dance until I was about 16, going to class thrice a week, building a repertoire, dancing competitively and for fun at incredible events. I eventually lost touch with the art over the years as you do with childhood interests. I found a teacher last year and started right from the basics in my 30s. Dancing was inseparable from my childhood memories and it’s amazing what my body remembers. Highly recommend going back to a lost childhood hobby.

The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating (Elisabeth Tova Bailey)
•••
I picked this up as the title caught my eye and I finished it in one sitting. I didn’t expect to be emotionally attached to a snail. The author is given a wild snail to keep her company during a phase of debilitating illness, it is full of insight and little discoveries that make it a moving read.

Made the switch about five years ago and this has been my go to browser for every day - even have the app on my phone. If you’re just tired of Google trying to sell you stuff on every dang page and just want to get to the article you’re trying to read without ads in your face, this is for you. Does take a little getting used to. Use ! to search other sites directly - adding !g to your search query searches on Google. Here’s a list of other bangs - shortcuts to query other sites https://duckduckgo.com/bangs
