The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating (Elisabeth Tova Bailey)
I picked this up as the title caught my eye and I finished it in one sitting. I didn’t expect to be emotionally attached to a snail.
The author is given a wild snail to keep her company during a phase of debilitating illness, it is full of insight and little discoveries that make it a moving read.

“The first book that comes to mind is this. Just the most hopeful little treatise on noticing the world around you, no matter how slow or how small.”

“Hoping this is like "Raising Hare," one of my favorite reads ever.”

“Part short biography, part ecological study, Elizabeth Tova Bailey shares her story of chronic illness and how a snail became her confidant through it.”
