Before I saw this documentary I had never heard of Diane Warren. She's written songs for artists including Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Celine Dion, Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston, Britney Spears, Aerosmith, Jennifer Hudson, Gloria Estefan, Tina Turner, Belinda Carlisle, Taylor Dayne, Gwen Stefani, Toni Braxton, Michael Bolton, and Mariah Carey. Fascinating!!!

High Maintenance follows a Brooklyn-based weed dealer known only as The Guy, who bikes around the city making deliveries and dipping in and out of his clients' lives along the way. The clients’ stories are the real meat of the show. Each episode offers a careful glimpse into someone's world. It’s funny, tender, and full of humanity. The soundtrack is trippy and delicious. This is a comfort show for me. When I don't know what to watch, it's always this one.

Pamela Adlon’s Better Things is one of my favorite tv series of all time. I have probably watched the entire series at least 4 times— twice by myself, once w/ my spouse, and once with my son. I love every single thing about it. I want to infiltrate her world. Even the hard, sad, ugly parts are treated with so much care the entire show is warm and cozy and smart and cool.

run lola run

I loved Run Lola Run when it came out and it was so fun to share with our 17-year old son over (gulp) 25 years later. Such a good movie that will mess with your head in the best way. Even if you don’t have a kid to watch it with, highly recommend. It’s only 81 minutes, beautiful to watch, and the soundtrack rules.
