Warm things, caloric things
•••
I walked my dad through an intense chemo journey, and two big things that gave a lot of comfort were: Warm layers! Temperature regulation is a big struggle, so wool hats, scarves, sweaters, warm sweats, and socks were a very big deal. A hot water bottle with a cover. A space heater. Etc etc etc but nothing is worse than feeling bad and cold. I baked the fattiest things I could imagine and froze them so they were basically immediately on hand when he did magically have an appetite. Pair it with some nutrition and it’ll help keep weight on! Sending healing wishes 🤍

A photo collage blanket

I’m so sorry your loved one is going through this. My mom is also going through chemo right now, and our family made her a blanket on Shutterfly with a collage of family photos. She loved it, and is planning to bring it to all her treatments so she can feel her family hugging her. (This blond stock photo family in the pic is not us lol)

last year a close friend was going through chemo and was sick of coloring books etc. We (some good friends of hers) got her a Nintendo switch and it was a huge hit — portable, easy to focus, distracting, fun

I had a friend going through chemo and she said the taste was just awful. This was a great way to have a little treat, but to practically combat the taste.
