Tamanu oil
•••
Tamanu oil is AMAZING. In my own experience, it works better on mosquito bites than After Bite and better on irritated skin/rashes/psoriasis than hydrocortisone. (It does have a funky smell, an eau de rancid nut if you will, but rest assured that is normal.) I googled and apparently it can help with poison ivy, too! I’d definitely patch-test first, if you’ve never used it before. Sometimes you can find it in crunchy health food stores. I’ve used and come to trust the Tiki Tahiti brand, but I’m sure there are other reputable ones.

Poison Oak/Ivy/Sumac Relief Soap

I can’t tell if this actually worked on a mild case I used it for or if I never had a case to begin with (lol), but either way I keep this with my outdoor gear now and always bring it camping.

It grows next to poison ivy and is it’s natural antidote! Collect some leaves and make a salve, spray, or just crush them and rub on your rash to soothe.
