The Correspondent
•••
Oh man, I love this book. Never did I think a collection of letters/emails would capture my attention as much as it did.

I loved the slow, steady human read of this book.

Easy to digest format, plus history to back up the lessons.

I am a sucker for a multigenerational story, plus it’s a quick read so it is easy to knock out in a couple days.

It took me a few starts before I got into this book. The first couple pages were interesting, then I hit a lull (just my personal opinion). Once I got past that, the book flew by.

Small Things Like These
•••
A short read that swept me to a different place and made me have an immediate soft spot for Furlong. I love Keegan’s writing and how she is able to take you on a character’s moral journey with such tenderness and humanness. Also loved Foster from Claire Keegan as well.

A Guide for the Perplexed

It felt far fetched to me, but sometimes, that’s totally okay (as someone who really likes realistic or historical fiction).

The Perfume Collector

Found it in a random bookstore while on a trip. Love when I pull an unknown-to-me book off the shelves and it turns out to be a good one.

The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle

I rarely read mysteries or fantasies, but I was engrossed from start to finish. I highly recommend the audiobook too! The narrator was amazing at managing so many different characters’ voices.

A quick read with more depth than I expected. I thought I was digging into a rom com, so the sad turn was surprise, but a hopeful ending always makes up for it. And I need pictures of the interior design/decor described in this book.

Just as gripping as The Kite Runner. I want to reread it, but need to wait until I’m ready for tears and feels.

I can’t believe I just now read this classic. I tore through this story while at the beach and having the ocean in close proximity added to the experience.

Might need to reread once it’s peak cherry season. I liked this Ann Patchett book slightly more than The Dutch House, but I am a sucker for any book with a sibling dynamic.

Not usual a fan of fantasy, but this story was compelling enough to tear through in a couple days.
