When making small talk, what questions get the most interesting answers?

Read/listen to anything good lately?: I love this question for small talk. You learn so much about the person’s interests. You’ll probably leave the conversation with a rec or two, which is great if you want a natural excuse to strike up a second convo.

We Like Sportz: Asking about sports - favorite team, did you play a sport, etc. I’ve gotten to know people really well by opening with a sports related question. Even if the answer is we pivot to something completely different!
