Her memoir (I’ll Never Write My Memoirs) is already Rec League; GJ will be, like, halfway through the story of being Andy Warhol’s date to Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver’s wedding and then spin off into where in various world capitals one should buy 1,000-piece Ravensburger puzzles (no substitutes will do; in Paris it’s Galeries Lafayette, btw). She’s been carried into her own birthday party in a coffin. When I saw her perform last summer she took off her pants and hula hooped through “Slave to the Rhythm.” She is this universe’s equivalent of the Bene Gesserit Voice and I AM DEEPLY INVESTED IN HER RECS.

I don’t know Daphne personally, but any friend of Anja’s is probably a great human and Daphne seems so kind and sensible and positive (in a sincere way, not in a guru way). Most health and wellness spaces feel kind of grifter-y and nothing about Daphne feels preachy or sales-y. She has such a gentle approach to caring for yourself and she is a good North Star when I need to re-evaluate not-so-helpful habits. Plus she has great style and taste! I think she’d be awesome on here and I always love what she recommends on her Doing Well site. Her videos are very comforting and I always feel a little more optimistic on incorporating more health-ful practices into my daily life.

This human is so kind and sincere and his commitment to (IRL) community care is so inspiring. I love his Substack and his Barnraising project and he is who I turn to time and time again and is a real guiding light when things feel very dark. I feel like he would have a lot of great recommendations on community building/care ❤️

He’s curating an exhibit for SFMOMA in October and BTS is currently actively on tour in the US. Would be a crazy longshot pull but also would be an excellent outlet for his desire to curate - whether that be art or music or anything, really.
