Birkenstock repair is amazing, generally. I’m so willing to spend oodles on Birks because they are so repairable and last so damn long. I haven’t had Michelangelo repair anything (yet) but I did consult him when I bought a pair of particularly expensive Birks that didn’t have a traditional Birk sole. He guided me through how they can be maintained once I’m ready to have them repaired. Top notch!

I know other apps exist now but Stylebook was the first and it is still my favorite. You can be as hands-off or as intense with it as you want. It has a calendar for logging and planning outfits which automatically calculates use per wear once logged. The app is bootstrapped and your information remains private. It’s a very small team so they don’t update it much but they are receptive to feedback and make changes based on user needs.

Quince 100% Mongolian Cashmere Double-Faced Wrap Coat

Rec'ing this coat specifically in response to a req for a lightweight wool coat under $500 in tan or camel. I actually have the double-breasted version of this coat in grey that they now only make in black. I learned about the glory of double-faced coats from Amy Smilovic and I may never buy anything else. This coat took me from Fall through Spring (including a very snowy winter) with strategic layering and works excellently as a blanket on an airplane.

The continuous spray bottle serves two major functions in my life: 1) Refreshing curls when I wake up with bed head. My pillowcase is silk, my sheets are not and my curls always need a boost in the morning. 2) Spraying down clothing with vodka. Earlier this year, I learned that costumers use vodka to refresh clothes that are delicate or don’t have time to be washed. Game changer. Now my sweaters keep their shape all winter and my bras resist the funk. (Sorry, not sorry.)

Ralph Lauren menswear is the greatest of all time. Give me all the Oxford shirts. Shout out to the menswear writer (at GQ?) who alerted me to the fact that their Boys “Big Kids” XL is a Men’s S but cheaper.
