they lifted a 16th c boat out of the ice cold mud in the 50s and now you can walk around in it -- it's in perfect condition, truly fascinating! amazing restaurant there too. Sounds odd but one of the cooler things I've ever seen.

This was something we initially went to just because it was a recommended thing to do — I didn’t really have an opinion on shipwrecks or anything nautical. But I had such a tremendously meaningful, almost religious (?!?) experience there. The Vasa is an ad for going to museums and how nothing can move you quite like being in the same room as living history.
