The Madonna Inn is a time warp of 60s maximalist design. Great pool and pink cake too. It’s unchanged and so nice in the sea of beige to stay somewhere truly unhinged electric colorful vintage vibes. A must if driving through San Luis Obispo

they lifted a 16th c boat out of the ice cold mud in the 50s and now you can walk around in it -- it's in perfect condition, truly fascinating! amazing restaurant there too. Sounds odd but one of the cooler things I've ever seen.
