Some of the most breathtaking views you’ll ever witness! The Meteora monasteries are unlike anything I’ve ever seen. The architecture is exquisite, there is so much history to learn and experience, and did I already mention the views? Doing some research before your visit is essential, you’ll want to plan out which/how many of the six monasteries you want to visit, ensure you pack and dress appropriately, and are prepared to get some steps/elevation gain in for the day.

Kalabaka Museum of Hellenic Culture

This was a great, off-the-beaten-path museum experience while we were in Kalabaka to visit the Meteora monasteries. It’s an excellent curated collection that encompasses Greek education over time, and the tour guide was really fun and interactive. We even got to sit in a “classroom” and receive a brief Greek alphabet lesson and learn how to write our names on individual chalkboards. Highly recommend if you’re going to be traveling to the area!
